CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) – Russell Wilson threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Luke Wilson with 47 seconds left, lifting the Seattle Seahawks to a 13-9 victory over the Carolina Panthers yesterday to snap a two-game losing streak. It’s the third straight year Wilson has brought the Seahawks back from a second-half deficit to beat the Panthers here. Wilson finished 20 of 32 for 199 yards with one interception and one touchdown.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) – Nick Bonino and Radim Vrbata both had a goal and an assist, and the Vancouver Canucks beat the Washington Capitals 4-2 last night. Henrik Sedin (seh-DEEN’) and Luca Sbisa also scored for Vancouver, and Chris Higgins had two assists. Ryan Miller made 20 saves to earn up his fifth win of the season. Justin Peters finished with 30 saves. After a scoreless first period, the teams broke out for five goals in the second.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) – Kendall Waston scored in the 70th minute and the Vancouver Whitecaps took the final Western Conference playoff spot with a 1-0 victory over the Colorado Rapids. The defender flung himself at Pedro Morales’ corner kick for a header in Saturday night’s match. Vancouver will visit Dallas in the Western Conference’s No. 4 vs. No. 5 one-game playoff Wednesday night

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (AP) – Dale Earnhardt Jr. won at Martinsville Speedway yesterday a week after he was eliminated from the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship. Jeff Gordon was second, giving Hendrick Motorsports a 1-2 finish. Gordon was the highest finishing Chase driver.
