A campaign spokesman says the ad starts airing on TV statewide tonight.

BEND, Ore. (AP) – Leaders from Central Oregon are seeking $2 million in state funding for projects connected with the expansion of OSU-Cascades. The Bulletin newspaper reports that the money is sought to improve Bend’s bus infrastructure and to create a business incubator. An Oregon State University official says improved bus service is needed to build a sustainable campus and reduce the number of cars on the road.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon Court of Appeals has rejected a man’s appeal of his conviction of carrying a concealed switchblade after a higher court clarified its interpretation of people’s rights during a traffic stop. Portland police asked Glenn Parker for identification and found a switchblade. An Oregon Supreme Court ruling says “a straightforward request for information” by police isn’t a seizure.

COQUILLE, Ore. (AP) – Police arrested a Myrtle Creek man accused of stabbing his female cousin in the abdomen with a large knife. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office says police officers found 21-year-old Cheyenne Workman with multiple stab wounds. She underwent surgery at Coquille Valley Hospital.
