MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – In their sixth and final debate, Republican gubernatorial challenger state Representative Dennis Richardson tried to turn up the heat on Democratic Governor John Kitzhaber, repeatedly using the word “corruption” in connection with a consulting business operated by Kitzhaber’s fiancee. The debate took place in the studios of KOBI TV in Medford.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – A ballot measure that would require labels on genetically engineered foods is poised to reach an Oregon spending record. Both sides of the battle over Measure 92 have raised more than $17 million combined – a number that’s likely to grow in the three weeks before the November 4th election.

BOARDMAN, Ore. (AP) – Oregon State Police say an 80-year-old Washington state man is dead after a multi-vehicle collision in the westbound lanes of Interstate 84 near Boardman. The westbound lanes were closed for several hours after the Monday morning crashes, reopening by mid-afternoon yesterday.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Police in Eugene say 23-year-old Jessica Bleyhl is accused of running over her boyfriend twice in the same day. After the second run-in, officers say she gave him a ride to the hospital. The Register-Guard reports the 31-year-old man’s injuries were not serious. Bleyhl was arrested on Friday. Police also arrested the run over victim, Justin Paul Lewis, on warrants for two counts of being a felon in possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of ecstasy.
