SALEM, Ore. (AP) – A teacher at a Salem alternative school has been put on leave after an incident caught on video shows her pulling a student through a doorway and stripping off the girl’s shirt. The video obtained by KGW-TV shows the teacher reprimanding the 15-year-old. A Salem-Keizer School District spokesman confirmed the incident happened Thursday at the Roberts Literacy Center, and says teacher Carrie McCann is on paid administrative leave.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Voters are being asked to allow state judges to teach for pay at public colleges or serve in the National Guard. The Register-Guard says Measure 87 could benefit the University of Oregon. The state constitution generally prohibits people from paid service in more than one branch of government at the same time. Measure 87 would ease the separation of powers.

SISTERS, Ore. (AP) – Oregon State Police say a Sherwood couple and their 7-month-old daughter were killed in a two-car crash on Saturday on Highway 20 west of the Santiam Pass summit. Police identified the three as 27-year-old Tiffany Fefelov, her 34-year-old husband Fred Fefelov and their daughter, Mia. Police say the driver lost control of the car and collided with a Chevrolet Suburban.

PENDLETON, Ore. (AP) – The state is asking for public input as it prepares a nationwide search for a new Oregon Department Fish & Wildlife director. Roy Elicker left the job to take a position with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The plan includes a survey to ask the public what characteristics and qualities the director should have.
