PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Trey Burke had 22 points and seven assists, and the Utah Jazz beat Portland 109-105 Thursday night for their second straight preseason victory over the Trail Blazers. Alec Burks added 20 points for the Jazz, who also defeated the Blazers 92-73 in the preseason opener for both teams on Tuesday in Utah. LaMarcus Aldridge had 22 points and six rebounds in about 24 minutes for Portland.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Klay Thompson scored 25 points and backcourt-mate Stephen Curry added 20, leading the Golden State Warriors to a 120-105 preseason victory over the Los Angeles Lakers last night. Kobe Bryant, playing his first game at Staples Center since Dec. 10, 2013, scored 15 points in 23 minutes before sitting out the fourth quarter. The two-time scoring champion appeared in only six games last season.

UNDATED (AP) – The Vancouver Canucks host the Edmonton Oilers tomorrow night. The Canucks are coming off a 4-2 victory against the Calgary Flames. Zack Kassian scored for Vancouver to snap a 1-all tie early in the second period, and Radim Vrbata made it a two-goal cushion at 11:07.

PITTSBURGH (AP) – NHL MVP Sidney Crosby scored twice and added an assist as the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Anaheim Ducks 6-4 last night in the season opener for both teams. Corey Perry had a hat trick for the Ducks, who collapsed after erasing an early three-goal deficit. Ryan Kesler added a goal in his debut with Anaheim.
