HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) – The Washington County Juvenile Department says it will continue to supervise group outings for young offenders despite the arrest of a teen accused of raping a woman after an Oregon Ducks football game. A county spokeswoman told KVAL-TV it’s important to provide opportunities for youth to gain social skills, and field trips are common in juvenile departments across the country.

SHERWOOD, Ore. (AP) – Police in Sherwood arrested a man accused of leaving his two young children unattended a minivan while he got a massage. Employees of Massage Envy called police to report the incident. The workers told investigators that 35-year-old Khalid Albugami said the mother was with the kids, but she was not.

GRESHAM, Ore. (AP) – Police in the east Portland suburb of Gresham say a 21-year-old man who had just bought a handgun and was openly carrying it as he walked along a street was robbed of the weapon by a second man who also had a gun. Police say the robber’s weapon was described as a “possibly semi-automatic black gun.” The stolen gun was a semi-automatic .22-caliber black Walther brand.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A Portland Fire & Rescue spokesman says an SUV crashed into a Les Schwab Tire Center in northeast Portland yesterday afternoon, injuring a customer who had been sitting in the waiting room. The unidentified male customer was taken to a Portland hospital. His condition was not known last night. Additional details about the crash were not immediately available.
