Here is the latest Washington, Oregon and Alaska sports news from The Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) – The future was promising when Russell Wilson’s Seattle Seahawks met Robert Griffin III’s Washington Redskins in the playoffs two seasons ago. Since then, the teams – and the quarterbacks – have taken divergent paths. Wilson and the Seahawks will return tonight with Super Bowl rings. Griffin won’t even be on the field for a Redskins team that imploded so badly their well-regarded coach was sent packing.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Oregon’s goal as the Ducks prepare to face UCLA is to put Arizona in the past. Quickly. The Ducks were upset by Arizona 31-24 on Thursday night, a stunning defeat at home that helped jumble the AP Top 25. Coach Mark Helfrich gave his team Saturday and yesterday off before the preparation for the trip to UCLA begins in earnest.

CHENEY, Wash. (AP) – Eastern Washington quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. will be sidelined three to six weeks after breaking two bones in his right foot. Coach Beau Baldwin said yesterday that Adams broke metatarsal bones in the Eagles’ 56-53 victory over Idaho State on Saturday. Adams played with the injury.

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (AP) – Obafemi Martins scored twice, Clint Dempsey and Marco Pappa added goals, and the Seattle Sounders cruised to a 4-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids yesterday. The Sounders surpassed the club record for wins in a season set in 2010, and tied the LA Galaxy for the top spot in MLS for the third week in a row. Seattle hosts the Vancouver Whitecaps next week before finishing the regular season.
