Mohamed Mohamud was sentenced yesterday in U.S. District Court in Portland in the plot that actually was an FBI sting. Agents targeted Mohamud after the then-teenager wrote for an online jihadi magazine.
PENDLETON, Ore. (AP) – A 52-year-old man has been convicted of murder in a fatal 2011 shooting at a plumbing shop near Milton-Freewater. The East Oregonian reports that Umatilla County jurors in Pendleton last night found George Craigen guilty of murder and related charges in the death of Cecil Carter. Sentencing is Monday.
GRESHAM, Ore. (AP) – Arizona Sen. John McCain will be in Oregon to try to help rescue Monica Wehby’s U.S. Senate bid. McCain is set to rally supporters in Gresham and Salem today. He’ll also raise money for Wehby’s campaign against first-term Democrat Jeff Merkley. Her campaign has been hobbled by a series of stories from her campaign and personal life.
