Here is the latest Washington, Oregon and Alaska sports news from The Associated Press

TORONTO (AP) – Jose Bautista homered and reached base four times, J.A. Happ won for the first time in four starts and the Toronto Blue Jays dealt a blow to Seattle’s wild card hopes, routing the Mariners 14-4 last night. Seattle’s James Paxton (6-4) gave up a career-high nine runs, walked a career-high six and matched a career-high by giving up seven hits in 2 2-3 innings, his shortest career start.

TORONTO (AP) – Mariners rookie left-hander Roenis Elias has been shut down for the season with a sore elbow, a blow to Seattle’s rotation as they chase a wild-card playoff berth. Elias went 10-12 with a 3.85 ERA in 29 starts, but left last Tuesday’s game at Los Angeles against the Angels after three innings with soreness in his elbow. An MRI yesterday revealed a strained flexor bundle. Elias will not throw for at least four to six weeks.

UNDATED (AP) – Pinch-hitter Andrew Susac singled home the go-ahead run in the 13th inning, and the San Francisco Giants beat the first-place Los Angeles Dodgers 5-2 last night to climb within 3 1/2 games of the NL West lead. Susac singled to left field off Kevin Correia (2-4), scoring Brandon Belt. San Francisco tacked on two more runs to take a 5-2 lead on Gregor Blanco’s double.

SEATTLE (AP) – Seattle Seahawks reserve defensive back DeShawn Shead won twice on Sunday. First, Shead participated on special teams and defense in Seattle’s 26-20 overtime win over the Denver Broncos. And after the game, Shead proposed to his girlfriend, Jessica Martinez, on the field. Martinez said yes. Shead is in his third season with the Seahawks.
