Boys Take Team Title; Girls Second

Celie Mans claimed the individual first place; Mikaela Siegel was fourth; and the Siuslaw Girls finished second overall at the Highland Tree Farm invitational Saturday in Mollala. Courtney King was 16th, Kennedy Pendergrass was 19th and Elizabeth Wartnik rounded out the scoring in 23rd place.

For the boys, Seth Campbell was second individually, Jonathon Griffes seventh and Jack Pickell was ninth and the Vikings outpaced Sprague 40 to 92 for the team championship. Rounding out the scoring for Siuslaw was Taylor Graham in 12th; Isaac Griffes was 17th. Drew Rannow and Kyle King each finished in the top 25for Siuslaw; Rannow 19th; King at 21st.

Football Vikings Bounce Back

Joe Dotson sprinted 49 yards for the go-ahead touchdown and the Siuslaw Vikings ground out at 28-22 victory Friday night over the Scio Loggers.

Dotson connected on 12-of-18 passes for 104 yards. Billy Jones carried the ball eight times for 45 yards, including a 26 yard touchdown run. He also had a first quarter kickoff return that went 75 yards to the end zone.

Ducks Lasso Cowboys

Second ranked Oregon got two touchdown passes and two scoring runs from Heisman hopeful Marcus Mariota in a 48-14 win over Wyoming Saturday in Eugene. Mariota passed for 221 yards for the three-and-oh Ducks to become the fourth player in school history to throw for more than 7-thousand yards.
