Viking Girls First; Boys Fourth; at Tugman XC
Seth Campbell claimed first place at Tugman State Park yesterday in the first prep cross country meet of the season. Siuslaw’s Campbell crossed the finish line in 16-minutes; 11.25 seconds. Sophomore Jack Pickell was the second Viking across the line, in tenth place overall with a time of 18:20. Marshfield claimed the team title, North Bend was in second followed by Brookings-Harbor; Siuslaw was fourth.
In the girls’ race, the Siuslaw Vikings captured the team title, edging out North Bend by a score of 35 to 43. Celie Mans was the first Viking; she was second with a time of 19:42.32. Mikaela Siegel was seventh; Courtney King eighth.
The Viking harriers run at the Highland Tree Farm in Molalla Saturday.
Three-Way Volleyball Match Set This Evening
On the volleyball court this afternoon, the Siuslaw Vikings will host Newport and Junction City for a pair of non-league matches at 4:30. Mapleton will be at Eddyville for Mountain West competition.
