Here is the latest Washington, Oregon and Alaska sports news from The Associated Press

SEATTLE (AP) – Felix Hernandez allowed one run in eight innings, extending his major league record streak of games with at least seven innings and two or fewer runs to 15, and the Seattle Mariners beat the Atlanta Braves 4-2 yesterday. Hernandez (12-3) struck out eight and walked one. His earned run average dropped to a league-leading 1.97.

MILWAUKEE (AP) – Gerardo Parra snapped a tie with a home run in the seventh and Milwaukee recorded the final out of its 4-3 victory last night against the San Francisco Giants when video replay overturned a safe call at first base. With two outs in the ninth, Brewers closer Frankie Rodriguez walked Hunter Pence. Joe Panik then bounced to second baseman Rickie Weeks, who was shielded on the play by Pence before making the throw to first.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) – Jeron Johnson knows that eventually Kam Chancellor will be back at strong safety and patrolling the Seattle Seahawks secondary. For now, Johnson is going to do all he can to leave a strong enough impression that should Chancellor ever need a break, the secondary will get along just fine. Johnson is beginning his fourth season with the Seahawks.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – By the time the MLS All-Star game rolls around tonight, coach Caleb Porter will have had two training sessions with his All-Stars. Porter is hoping his side has some fast learners. The All-Stars hold a 7-3-1 record over visiting teams in the annual showcase, but last year the MLS fell 3-1 to AS Roma.
