CLEVELAND (AP) – Mike Zunino’s two-run homer in the eighth inning lifted the Seattle Mariners to a 6-5 win over the Cleveland Indians last night. Bryan Shaw (4-3) walked Kyle Seager to start the inning before Zunino hit a 2-0 pitch into the left-field bleachers for his 17th home run. Joe Beimel (3-1) pitched one-third of an inning while Fernando Rodney worked the ninth for his AL-leading 30th save.

DETROIT (AP) – The Detroit Tigers have added another Cy Young Award winner to their star-studded rotation, acquiring Tampa Bay’s David Price in three-team blockbuster yesterday. Tampa Bay got infielder Nick Franklin from Seattle, with Detroit outfielder Austin Jackson going to the Mariners.

CLEVELAND (AP) – The Seattle Mariners have acquired veteran outfielder Chris Denorfia from the San Diego Padres for a pair of minor leaugers. Seattle announced the deal about 90 minutes before baseball’s non-waiver trade deadline yesterday. The Mariners sent outfielder Abraham Almonte, their opening day starter in center field, and right-hander Stephen Kohlscheen to the Padres.

SEATTLE (AP) – Tamika Catchings scored 16 points to move into third place on the WNBA’s career scoring list, Marissa Coleman had eight of her 16 in the fourth quarter, and the Indiana Fever beat the Seattle Storm 76-67 last night. Shekinna Stricklen scored 20 points to lead Seattle (9-20), which has lost seven straight. The Storm led 55-51 early in the fourth before Indiana rallied behind Coleman and Catchings.
