MCMINNVILLE, Ore. (AP) – It’s been a week since 38-year-old Jennifer Huston of Dundee disappeared, and searchers are running out of leads. Newberg-Dundee Police say searchers in the air and on the Willamette River looked without success yesterday for an oil sheen that may have indicated a car in the water. Police across the west have been asked to be on the lookout for Huston.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Some protesters are objecting to a settlement with a Portland police officer who was disciplined for placing plaques in a city park in 1999 to honor Nazi-era German soldiers. Capt. Mark Kruger threatened to sue over texts sent by a top police official that characterized Kruger as a Nazi sympathizer. Mayor Charles Hales says he agrees with the outrage, but the settlement helped avoid costly litigation.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A 32-year-old woman has been sentenced to five years of probation for helping a couple get rid of a victim’s vehicle during a three-state killing spree. Kimberly Wyatt pleaded guilty in April to helping David “Joey” Pedersen and his girlfriend Holly Ann Grigsby dispose of a Jeep belonging to Pedersen’s father. The father was one of four people killed by the couple in 2011.

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) – The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation will release extra water into Northern California’s Klamath and Trinity rivers once salmon start dying from drought-related disease, but not before. Officials say they made the decision came after consulting with tribes, irrigators and other agencies. Other biologists worry that low water flows could lead to parasite that can kill the salmon.
