VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — A concept for a proposed third bridge to link Oregon and Washington over the Columbia River has been revealed. The Vancouver Columbian reports the span championed by Clark County Commissioner David Madore would cross the river at Highway 14 in Vancouver, jog to the west slightly, cross Government Island and connect to Northeast Airport Way in Oregon. A third bridge has long been considered as an option to relieve congestion between the two states.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The nation’s largest wildfire is near complete containment. The 618-square-mile Buzzard Complex fire in eastern Oregon remained at 95 percent containment yesterday. Incident reports from the fire say containment lines continue hold as crews monitor increased fire activity.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A 38-year-old mother of two has been missing since Thursday and police have exhausted their leads. The Oregonian reports that Dunde resident Jennifer Huston was last seen buying gas at a 76 station in Newberg. Newberg-Dundee Police Captain Jeff Kosmicki says surveillance video shows Huston buying gas around 6:10 p.m. for her dark green Lexus LX-470.

TILLAMOOK, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State Police say they arrested a man after he tried to bribe a trooper to tear up a citation during a traffic stop along Highway 101 in Tillamook County. Officials say 20-year-old Austen Corno of Milwaukie offered the trooper $360 to tear the citation up. Corno was stopped on Friday after the trooper observed him passing in a no-passing zone.
