light rail trains after a stabbing early yesterday near the Rose
Quarter in Portland. The 30-year-old man who was stabbed told
police he argued with the woman after she held the train door open,
waiting for someone. Police jailed the 22-year-old woman for
assault. The Oregonian reports it was the third such stabbing this
year.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Police killed the driver of a stolen car
after a chase early today in downtown Salem ended in a crash.
Officers spotted the car that had been reported stolen last night,

As officers approached, police say the driver failed to comply, and
his actions “placed officers at the scene in imminent danger.”
Two officers fired.
