Taking a look at Coast Radio Sports…

The Eugene Emeralds played error-free ball last night, answering a five-run deficit with 11 unanswered runs over four innings for a 13-7 victory over the Hillsboro Hops at PK Park.

The left side of the Emeralds’ infield performed well at the plate. Shortstop River Stevens and Third baseman Nick Vilter were each two-for-two with a pair of RBI and two runs scored. Stevens drew three walks; Vilter two.

Last night’s game was the final in the first half of the Northwest League season. The Ems wrapped up with a 15-and-23 record, at the bottom of the South Division. They’ll start over with an oh-and-oh record tonight when they host Tri-City for the first of five.

On the diamond also this afternoon will be the Three Rivers Sandblasters. They’ll be in North Bend for two games against the North Coos Waterfront; a single-A American Legion team. The first game will air on Coast Radio Sports beginning at 3:45.
