ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) – Grant Green hit a bases-loaded single off Fernando Rodney with two outs in the ninth inning after Albert Pujols (POO’-hohls) tied the score with an RBI double, and the Angels pulled out a 6-5 victory over the Seattle Mariners yesterday. Mike Trout drew a leadoff walk in the ninth and scored on Pujols’ 544th career double.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) – All-Star second baseman Robinson Cano (kan-OH’) was scratched from the Seattle Mariners’ starting lineup for yesterday’s series finale against the Los Angeles Angels because of tightness and soreness in his hamstring. Cano asked manager Lloyd McClendon for the day off after playing all 28 innings in the Mariners’ first two games after the All-Star break.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) – Sonny Gray struck out eight to win his fifth consecutive decision, and the Oakland Athletics pounded the Baltimore Orioles 10-2 yesterday. Gray gave up two runs, one earned, two hits and two walks in 6 2/3 innings. The 24-year-old right-hander hasn’t lost since June 13 at the New York Yankees. The major-league best A’s overpowered the AL East-leading Orioles in the final regular-season meeting between the playoff-contending clubs.

RENO, Nev. (AP) – A Utah company’s cancellation of an annual fun run featuring a muddy, foamy obstacle course has left participants out of money in Nevada, Oregon and other states. Registered runners for the 5K Foam Fest set for July 26 in Portland, Oregon, received an email Thursday from Spanish Fork, Utah-based Round House Racing saying it was going out of business. Participants aren’t being offered refunds.
