PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A suspect has been arrested in the weekend shooting at a Portland strip club that killed one man and wounded four other people. Police say a U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force with local police and deputies arrested Jontae Mixon last night stemming from the shooting outside Soobie’s Bar and Grill strip club early Saturday. Police say the attack was gang-related.

IDYLLWILD, Calif. (AP) – An Oregon woman whose 2-year-old granddaughter drank methamphetamine-laced tea in California has pleaded guilty to child endangerment and possession of a controlled substance. The Riverside Press-Enterprise reports Cynthia Watson of Aloha was sentenced to 60 days in custody and with orders to stay away from her grandchildren. Authorities say she was visiting her family when she prepared the meth-laced tea to get high but left it unattended.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police in Portland say they have arrested a 29-year-old man accused of kicking a police horse. Officers say Joseph Cruz ran up to the horse named Olin, uttered a “karate-like battle cry” and delivered what a spokesman calls “a jumping, double kick” to the horse’s right thigh. Police say the horse was unfazed and unhurt yesterday. Olin and his human partner took Cruz into custody.

GARIBALDI, Ore. (AP) – When a 14-foot boat capsized in front of the Coast Guard’s Tillamook Bay station at Garibaldi on the north Oregon coast, guardsmen swung into action, rescuing two children and one adult. Petty Officer 2nd Class Patrick Sandler was working on the pier Tuesday when he heard screams for help and saw a girl swimming toward him. He helped her onto the pier and called for reinforcements. A boat and crew helped a man and a boy who were holding on to the breakwall 200 yards from the pier. All are OK.
