MOLALLA, Ore. (AP) – Clackamas County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the death of a 36-year-old man during a standoff with deputies near Molalla last night. Police say the standoff began with a domestic violence call and officers heard shots fired soon after they arrived. It’s not clear if the man shot himself or was shot by officers.

RAINIER, Ore. (AP) – A teen driver died in a rollover accident west of Rainier, Oregon, early yesterday. The Oregonian reports state police are investigating the one-car accident in which another 16-year-old was injured. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger suffered a minor injury and was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Longview, Washington.

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) – Relatives and friends are remembering the 14 firefighters who were killed when a wildfire trapped them on Storm King mountain in western Colorado 20 years ago. One of those killed was Roger Roth, a member of the Prineville, Oregon, Hot Shots crew. His brother, Jim Roth, called yesterday’s memorial “incredibly meaningful.”

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Officials are dedicating a memorial today to the thousands of people who died at an Oregon mental hospital and whose remains were never claimed. The cremated remains were discovered in a shed a decade ago and only 183 have been claimed. The 3,400 that remain are listed in a searchable online database.
