UNDATED (AP) – The Portland Timbers go on the road to challenge the Los Angeles Galaxy tonight. The Timbers hope to redeem themselves after last week’s loss to Kansas City. They were defeated 1-0 after Lawrence Olum shot past goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts for his first goal of the season.

DAVIE, Fla. (AP) – The Miami Dolphins say defensive end, and former-University of Oregon player Dion Jordan has been suspended four games by the NFL for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances. Once the regular season starts he will not be permitted to be part of the Dolphins’ active roster until Sept. 29. Jordan was the third overall pick in the 2013 draft out of Oregon.

TACOMA, Wash. (AP) – Two leaders of a failed youth baseball league in Tacoma have been charged with theft and writing bad checks. Prosecutors say 41-year-old Ryan Rhoads and 42-year-old Eric Jacobs used the bank account of Pioneer Pony Baseball to write bad checks and for personal expenses. They say the men collected fees for uniforms but didn’t provide them to players.
