The Tri-City Dust Devils manufactured one run in the bottom of the first inning; scoring Marcos Derkes on a wild pitch, then held on for a one-run-shutout win over the Eugene Emeralds in Pasco last night.

The Ems managed six hits, but committed three errors, including a throwing error in the first that advanced Derkes. The Devils won the series, three games to two. The Emeralds are at home this evening against the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes.

Yesterday’s scheduled double header in Corvallis between the Three Rivers Sandblasters and the Gerding Builders was a rainout. The games will be rescheduled later. The Blasters are on the road through this weekend for the Oregon City wood bat tournament.
