Sandblasters Fall Short

The score was tied at two-all headed into the bottom of the seventh and the Withnell Dodgers broke things open with three runs and eventually went on to a 7-3 American Legion baseball win over the Three Rivers Sandblasters last night. Pete Lahte (LAH-tay) and John Dodson teamed up to provide half of the ‘Blasters 12 hits on the night with three each. Taylor Travess pitched six innings and helped himself at the plate as well with two hits… one a triple.

The Sandblasters travel to Corvallis for nine-innings tomorrow.

Emeralds Drop Second Straight

The Eugene Emeralds put up one run in the top half of the first inning last night in Pasco, but the Tri-City Dust Devils held them scoreless the rest of the way and added five runs of their own for a 5-1 Northwest League win. Game four of the five game series is tonight at Gesa Stadium.
