Grant Palmer singled home the go-ahead run in the sixth inning and UC Irvine held on to upset number one seed Oregon State 4-2 last night to win the NCAA Corvallis Regional.

The Anteaters, 38-and-23, advance to the super-regional round for the fourth time in school history and will face Oklahoma State in Stillwater.

Jake Thompson, three-and-two- on the year with seven starts, gave up three runs on four hits to take the loss for the 45-and-14 Beavers.

 

Registration for the annual Siuslaw Viking Basketball Camp is now open. Boys and girls K to twelfth grade can participate between June 16th and 19th at the Siuslaw High School Gym.  Preregister by June 11th and entry is just $25. As of June 12th registration will be $30 per student. Kids will learn individual shooting, rebounding, ball handling and much more during the four day Siuslaw Viking Basketball camp June 16th through 19th; morning session 9 to noon is set up for kids k through 7; afternoon sessions are 1 to 4pm for grades 8 through 12.  To register call coach Carl Johnson at Siuslaw High School 541-997-34748
