Nicolas Batum (bah-TOOM’) had 14 points, and San Antonio’s advantage in the series was cut to 3-1. Game 5 is tomorrow in San Antonio.
SEATTLE (AP) – Felix Hernandez got plenty of run support and the Seattle Mariners topped the Tampa Bay Rays 12-5 last night after hitting two early drives off the top of the wall, requiring video reviews on consecutive batters. James Jones doubled, singled and scored in each of the first three innings as the Mariners took a 9-0 lead. Robinson Cano (kan-OH’) drove in two runs and Hernandez cruised to the win.
CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) – Oregon State ace Ben Wetzler faces two misdemeanor charges for breaking the window of a Corvallis home, apparently thinking it was his own residence. Corvallis police took Wetzler into custody Saturday. Corvallis police say Wetzler was intoxicated when he was booked into Benton County Jail on first-degree criminal trespass and second-degree criminal mischief charges.
BEND, Ore. (AP) – A 21-year-old skier missing on Mount Bachelor was found yesterday in good shape despite spending a night in the snow and temperature that dipped to freezing. The Bend Bulletin reports that Ryan Melrose Deyoung of Bend, who has autism, bought a day pass Sunday for the ski area at Mount Bachelor. More than 50 rescue workers were involved in an operation that spread to the summit of the 9,068-foot mountain.
