PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Houston has a LaMarcus Aldridge problem. The Trail Blazers’ All-Star forward has been dominating with more than 40 points in each of the opening two playoff games between the two teams in Houston. Portland is up 2-0 as the series moves to Rip City tonight.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) – Blake Griffin scored 32 points and grabbed eight rebounds, DeAndre Jordan had 14 points and 22 rebounds and the Los Angeles Clippers outlasted the Golden State Warriors 98-96 last night to take a 2-1 lead in their first-round series. Klay Thompson scored 26 points, and Stephen Curry had 16 points and 15 assists to rally the Warriors back.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) – When it was clear Marcus Trufant’s time was done with the Seattle Seahawks following the 2012 season, he was given a message by general manager John Schneider and coach Pete Carroll. If the time came when Trufant was ready to retire from the NFL, they wanted him to do it as a member of the Seahawks. Trufant got that opportunity yesterday, officially retiring from football after signing a one-day contract with the Seahawks.

SEATTLE (AP) – The Seattle Mariners have selected outfielder Cole Gillespie from Triple-A Tacoma and he will be in uniform for today’s game against Texas. The Mariners also announced that they are optioning Nick Franklin back to Tacoma and optioning right-handed starter Erasmo Ramirez to Single-A High Desert so he can stay on normal rest with off days coming up in Seattle’s schedule.
