ALBANY, Ore. (AP) – The Linn County sheriff’s office says a man whose body was found in the Willamette River at Albany had been in the water for some time. Deputies are checking missing person reports and asking for help from anyone who may have information about the man’s identity. The body was spotted by a family on a hike near Bryant Park yesterday.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A federal judge has thrown out a lawsuit that a Seaside detective brought against the Clatsop County district attorney. Detective Steve Barnett alleged that DA Josh Marquis and his chief deputy Ron Brown damaged his reputation and his ability to work as an investigator in retaliation for his political activities.

KANEOHE BAY, Hawaii (AP) – A Marine charged with the murder of a prostitute visiting Hawaii is going on trial this week. Master Sgt. Nathaniel Cosby’s court martial is scheduled to begin today at Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kaneohe Bay. Victim Ivanice “Ivy” Harris was originally from Oregon and had been living in Las Vegas.

HOUSTON (AP) – LaMarcus Aldridge scored a franchise playoff-record 46 points to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to a 122-120 victory over the Houston Rockets last night in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series. Aldridge fouled out with a minute left in overtime and Damian Lillard scored the next five points for Portland to put the Blazers on top. Lillard finished with 31. Game 2 is Wednesday night in Houston.
