SEASIDE, Ore. (AP) – Dozens of people carried signs protesting the Oregon Department of Education’s Adolescent Sexuality Conference in Seaside yesterday. Protester Mike Kelly told KATU officials should be more accountable to parents about sex education. One conference organizer says the goal is to provide educational resources to teachers and knowledge to young people so they can make healthy choices.

FOREST GROVE, Ore. (AP) – Pacific University says the two young women killed in a crash on Highway 47 near Forest Grove yesterday were students. Driver Kiden Dilla and passenger Ayan Osman were both from Portland. State Police say it appears their car pulled into the path of a box truck. They died at the scene. The truck driver was not seriously injured.

SHERWOOD, Ore. (AP) – A man walking on railroad tracks was killed by a train last night in Sherwood. The Washington County sheriff’s office tells KATU he died at the scene.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – A man was found dead at a house fire last night in Eugene. KVAL reports firefighters were originally dispatched to an aid call and were surprised when they discovered the fire. The man was about 70 years old. His mother also was at the home. She was taken to a hospital and treated for breathing smoke.
