SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Oregon officials are backing off their proposal to prohibit sales of pot-infused treats at medical marijuana stores. In a new set of rules released yesterday, the Oregon Health Authority will only ban marijuana-laced products that are made or packaged in ways that might appeal to children. The rules take effect today, but they could change based on public comments during a six-month rule-making process.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – A 47-year-old Ukrainian man who told the FBI he had been drinking heavily for 50 days before causing a ruckus on a flight to Salt Lake City has pleaded guilty to interfering with a flight crew as part of a deal with prosecutors. Anatoliy Baranovich, of Portland, Ore., is due back in court June 25 for sentencing in the October 2012 incident. He could face up to five years in prison.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – A 33-year-old Salem man reported drunk and missing has been found dead in a drainage ditch. The police tell the Statesman Journal that family members were looking for Dustin Hill when they found his body Sunday evening in a drainage ditch near McNary Field. Police say say the death appears to be an accident.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Two photographers arrived at a Portland house fire about early yesterday morning to shoot video and realized no one was outside. The two told KATU they pounded on doors and windows to wake up a man who came outside.
