NCAA Women’s Tournament

Alieghsa Welch scored 21 points and pulled down 11 rebounds as top-seeded South Carolina used its size and athleticism to overwhelm number nine seed Oregon State 78-69 last night in the second round of the Women’s NCAA Basketball Tournament.  Jamie Weisner led Oregon State with 21 points.

On the baseball diamond…

Number 11 ranked Oregon gave up six runs in the fourth inning, then fell short in a pair of comeback attempts, eventually falling 8-4 to the Dons in San Francisco yesterday.  The Diamond Ducks put up eight hits, but left 11 base-runners stranded in the non-league loss.  The two teams are scheduled to meet again this afternoon.

Number Six Oregon State fell victim to the weather.  Their non-league game against Seattle will not be made up.

Prep Softball Update
