MOLALLA, Ore. (AP) – A fire official in Molalla says a woman in her 70s spent 18 hours standing with her hand stuck under the hood of her pickup truck. She was airlifted to a Portland hospital yesterday after neighbors out horseback riding heard her shouts and rescued her. A fire official says the woman was hooking up a charger to her pickup’s battery Wednesday when the hood slammed down on her hand. The woman’s name was not released. Her condition was not available.

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) – Thieves stripped a house in southern Oregon of almost everything while the owners were remodeling it for sale. The Grants Pass Daily Courier reports that a real estate agent showing the house in Rogue River discovered the burglary. Taken were a refrigerator, an electric range, a dishwasher, a microwave oven, kitchen cabinets and countertops, a water heater, a bathroom sink and medicine cabinet, and carpeting. The kitchen sink was left behind.

BAKER CITY, Ore. (AP) – The Medal of Honor posthumously awarded to an Oregon man killed in Vietnam will be displayed at the Baker County Courthouse. The Baker City Herald reports that Army Sgt. John Noble Holcomb of Richland is the only Baker County resident to ever receive the U.S. military’s highest decoration. Bill Holcomb took the Medal of Honor and his brother’s other military honors to the courthouse this week.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge and guard Damian Lillard have both been named reserves for the NBA All-Star game. Aldridge’s third All-Star nod makes him the fifth Blazer to be named to an All-Star team at least three times. Lillard, last season’s Rookie of the Year, is making his first All-Star game appearance. The game is scheduled for Feb. 16 in New Orleans.
