PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Jockey Eliska (el-ish-ka) Kubinova won this season’s riding title at Portland Meadows. Kubinova split her summer between Portland Meadows and Emerald Downs near Seattle before focusing full-time on the Delta Park oval. She dominated the fall and winter races, and concluded the meet that ended Sunday with 55 thoroughbred wins.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – Derrick Favors had 17 points and 12 rebounds, and Marvin Williams added 16 points and 11 rebounds to power the Utah Jazz past the depleted Sacramento Kings 106-99 last night. Enes Kanter added 16 points and Jeremy Evans had 14 points and 10 rebounds.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Andre Winston Jr. scored 23 points as Portland State got hot in the second half and came back to defeat Eastern Washington 92-83 last night. Eastern Washington started off hot, making 69.6 percent of its field goal attempts in the first half to take a 40-30 halftime lead. The Eagles cooled to 36.1 percent shooting in the second period.

SEATTLE (AP) – The mayors of Seattle and Denver have made their friendly Super Bowl bets, promoting local businesses and causes. In a call yesterday, Seattle Mayor Ed Murray said in the unlikely event of a Broncos win, he would send Denver Mayor Michael Hancock salmon, Dungeness crab, and a bicycle made by Rodriguez Bicycles in Seattle. If the Seahawks win, Mayor Hancock says he’ll send a sampling of Denver’s green chile and a hoodie, ball cap and skis handmade by Denver’s locally grown Icelantic Skis.
