Pac-12 Basketball

The losing streak extends now to five… the Oregon men fell to Washington last night in Seattle, 80 – 76.  Joseph Young led the Ducks with 18 points, including six in less than a minute late in the game to help spur a rally that fell short.  Oregon started the season with 13-straight wins… they’ll be in Pullman Sunday afternoon where they’ll attempt to turn things around against Washington State…. Airtime on Coast Radio Sports will be at 3:30… tipoff at four.

Oregon State will be in Seattle tomorrow where they’ll take on the Huskies at two… airtime on KCFM will come at 1:30.

Prep Hoops

On the prep court… Siuslaw will wrap up the first half of the Far West Season in North Bend against the Bulldogs… both games… boys and girls… will air on KCST with airtime at 5:45.

Reedsport will be at home against Bandon this evening; Mapleton will be in Blue River against McKenzie.

Viking Grapplers

A short-squad had good results yesterday in Sutherlin for the Siuslaw Vikings.   Coach Neil Wartnik said a combination of circumstances led to only five wrestlers making the trip.  Three of those came away with double-victories in dual meets against both Sutherlin and South Umpqua.

Isaiah Burkhalter won twice at 126 pounds; Tyler Coolidge and Markel Bliss did the same at 138 and 220.  Jose de la Mora had a single victory at 113 pounds and Dylan Jennings won at 285.

Viking wrestlers will be back on the mats tomorrow in Sutherlin for the Bulldog Invitational.
