Pac-12 Season Opens

Damyean Dotson stole the ball in overtime, drove the length of the court, and slammed the ball in the hoop with one second remaining for the game winner as number ten Oregon beat Utah 70-68 to open the Pac-12 season for both teams.  The win lifted the Ducks to a 13-0 start to the season… their best since 2006-and-seven.  Oregon will move on to Boulder Sunday afternoon where they’ll face Number 20 ranked Colorado at two…. The pregame show on KCST is at 1:30.

The Buffaloes hung on for a 64-58 win over Oregon State last night.  Roberto Nelson led scoring for the Beavs who are at eight-and-five.  Eric Moreland was back on the court for Oregon State after serving a 12-game suspension for violation of team rules.  He had ten rebounds.  Oregon State and Utah will meet tomorrow afternoon at one in Salt Lake… the pregame show on KCFM is at 12:30.

Prep Hoops

The Reedsport Lady Braves picked up their second win of the season, 33-16, last night over the Taft Tigers in Lincoln City.  The boys played in Reedsport with the Tigers coming out on top over the Braves 64-25.  Reedsport boys and girls will be at Rogue River tomorrow afternoon.

The Far West season gets underway this evening on the court with the Siuslaw Vikings hosting South Umpqua.  The Lady Lancers and Vikings will meet at six… the boys immediately following.  Both games will air on Coast Radio Sports beginning at 5:45.

Wrestling

On the mats tomorrow…  Siuslaw Grapplers will be at Riddle for the Shamrock Invitational.
