Siuslaw Awards to be Announced January 13th
Oregon Pacific Bank and Siuslaw Bank are the two nominees for this year’s Stu Johnston Business of the Year Award. The award is given to the business that best demonstrates long term or significant business success; and has shown strong and active community involvement.
The winner will be announced January 15th during the annual Siuslaw Awards presented by the Florence Area Chamber of Commerce.
Four other awards, along with the Florence First Citizen and Future First Citizen will be presented that evening as well.
Nominees for Community Caring include Abby’s Legendary Pizza, Grocery Outlet, Mo’s Restaurant, Oregon Pacific Bank, and PeaceHealth Peace Harbor Medical Center.
The award for Curb Appeal has three nominees: Driftwood Shores; La Pomodori Ristorante; and The River House Inn.
For Excellence in Customer Service, the nominees are Hoberg’s Complete Auto Repair; Laurel Bay Gardens; and Siuslaw Broadband.
Rounding out the Siuslaw Awards will be the Non-Profit Achievement award to either the Friends of the Florence Events Center; Relay For Life; Siuslaw Outreach Services; or Soroptimist International of Florence.
In addition to the Siuslaw Awards the annual Florence First Citizen and Future First Citizen Awards will be presented. There are three nominees for First citizen: Phil Brubaker; Craig McMicken and Eric Tanikawa.
Four nominees have been named for Future First Citizen: Chelsey Bartlett, Kylie Brandt, Jacob Kirby and Sascha McIntyre.
Tickets for the awards dinner at the Florence Events Center are available now at the Chamber’s Visitor Center for $30.
The average cash price for a gallon of regular gasoline climbed in Florence by Six cents this week to $3.21. That is still eight cents less than the national average, which climbed by a similar amount this week to $3.33. Oregon’s average price, as measured by Triple-A increased by four cents in the pas t week and is at $3.34.
