SEATTLE (AP) — Malcolm Smith returned an interception 37 yards for a touchdown, Marshawn Lynch added a 2-yard scoring run and the Seattle Seahawks clinched the NFC West title and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with a 27-9 win over the St. Louis Rams yesterday. Seattle (13-3) matched the franchise record for wins in a season and finally wrapped up the No. 1 seed after failing in two previous attempts.

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Angus Brandt returned from an injury to score 21 points and lead Oregon State over Quinnipiac 76-68 last night. Brandt had missed the previous two games after hyper-extending his knee on Dec. 22. Roberto Nelson added 17 points for the Beavers (8-4).

SEATTLE (AP) — C.J. Wilcox scored 23 points, 18 in the second half, and the Washington Huskies held off stubborn Hartford for a 73-67 victory last night. Wilcox has now scored at least 15 points in 15 straight games and 58 times in his career. Andrew Andrews added 19 for Washington (8-5). Wilcox put the Huskies ahead 53-52 with a pair of free throws with 7:24 left.

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Kayla McBride scored 20 points, Natalie Achonwa added 16 points and eight rebounds, and No. 2 Notre Dame remained perfect with a 70-58 victory over Oregon State yesterday. Sophomore Jewell Loyd, last year’s national freshman of the year, had 10 points for the Irish (11-0) — 8.5 below her team-leading average coming in. Jamie Weisner scored 18 points to lead the Beavers (8-4).
