MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – A judge has raised bail to $5 million for an Oregon man charged with trying to blow up the office of the district attorney who was prosecuting him on burglary charges. Alan Leroy McVay appeared by video yesterday in Medford on charges of arson, burglary, possessing and manufacturing a destructive device, and criminal mischief.

GOVERNMENT CAMP, Ore. (AP) – The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office says homicide detectives are investigating a death at Mount Hood. Few details have been released, but deputies discovered the body yesterday after being called to a home at Government Camp.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Eugene police say an officer who stopped a man on a mini-motorcycle near a high school had already taken a hatchet and a large knife from the motorcyclist when the man ran toward the school while still armed with a handgun. Police identified the man as 44-year-old Christopher Lee Koziatek, of Eugene.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Gov. John Kitzhaber says he’ll announce changes related to Oregon’s troubled health insurance exchange. He plans to hold a news conference today in Portland. A news release says changes include “additional resources, support and accountability to boost health care enrollment.”
