VALE, Ore. (AP) – Oregon State Police say a man and woman are dead and their teen-age daughter is injured after their car rear-ended a farm truck that pulled onto Highway 20 near Vale yesterday. The 13-year-old girl and the driver of the farm truck were treated and released at St. Alphonsus Medical Center in Ontario.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Authorities say a man who was riding a motorized bicycle was killed yesterday afternoon in a collision with a car at an intersection in north Eugene. Witnesses say he failed to stop at a stop sign and was starting to make a U-turn when he pulled into the path of the car.

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) – A 65-year-old Oregon man accused of transporting marijuana and hashish across Wyoming is set to appear in court Wednesday. The Laramie Boomerang reports William Boon of Cave Junction was charged Friday with speeding and multiple drug-related felonies after a state trooper pulled him over on Interstate 80 near Laramie on Wednesday and found more than 10 pounds of packaged marijuana and several pounds of hashish.

CORVALLS, Ore. (AP) – A plan to issue iPads to middle-school students in Corvallis is on hold while the school district tries to make sure that students can’t bypass the school’s security software to access forbidden websites. Officials said they were concerned by reports from Los Angeles, where three districts began to recall iPads when high school students defeated security measures.
