The Boise Hawks steadily clawed their way to an eight run lead last night over the first five innings; eventually coming away with an 8-3 win and completing a three-game sweep over the Eugene Emeralds.

The Ems head out to Everett, Washington today where they’ll start a five game series against the Aqua Sox.

Oregon Ducks

Marcus Mariota is planning on adding more than just a few extra pounds this season.  Oregon’s softspoken quarterback bulked up with an extra 12-pounds of muscle over the summer.  He says he’s also ready to break out and become a more vocal leader of the Ducks in his sophomore year.

He has the chops to pull it off.  Last year as a freshman he set the team’s single-season record with 38 touchdowns.  He was also the first freshman named to the Pac-12’s all-conference first team in 23 years.
