Pac-12 Football

The Oregon Ducks open the college football season next month with the expectations of great things… Pac-12 sports writers picked Oregon to win it all in the conference last week during the league media day in Los Angeles.  It was close though… Oregon edged Stanford and UCLA in the preseason poll, receiving 14 of the 25 first place votes in the northern division.  Defending Rose Bowl champions Stanford picked up 11 first place votes.  UCLA had 12 votes in the southern division, edging Arizona State and their nine votes.

Oregon State was third in the north balloting.

The Ducks open the season at home August 31st against Nicholls State… the Beavers the same day against Eastern Washington.

The Eugene Emeralds mounted a four-run rally to come from behind in the eighth inning last night at home, downing the Vancouver Canadians 4-1.  It was the fourth game of their five-game series… they wrap it up tonight at PK Park.
