Here is the latest Washington, Oregon and Alaska sports news from The Associated Press

SEATTLE (AP) – Daniel Nava hit a two-out single in the top of the 10th inning to score pinch-runner Jackie Bradley Jr., and the Boston Red Sox rallied from a four-run deficit for the second time in a four-game series to beat the Seattle Mariners 8-7 yesterday. Ryan Lavarnway walked to open the 10th against Tom Wilhelmsen and was replaced by Bradley. Nava fell behind in the count, but was able to roll a 1-2 pitch back up the middle and past the dive of second baseman Brad Miller to give Boston the lead.

SEATTLE (AP) – Raul Jimenez scored off of a corner kick late in the first half, and Marco Fabian converted a penalty early in the second as Mexico bounced back from an opening-game loss to beat Canada 2-0 in a CONCACAF Gold Cup group-stage game last night. Mexico, which lost 2-1 to Panama last Sunday, climbed back into contention in heading into Sunday’s Group A finale against Martinique in Denver.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) – Wide receiver Charly Martin has been released by the Seattle Seahawks, who also claimed long snapper Kyle Nelson off waivers. The Seahawks made the roster moves yesterday, two weeks before the start of training camp. Martin had four catches for 42 yards in his one season with the Seahawks.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Robin Lopez vows to help the Portland Trail Blazers with something the team missed last season: defensive stops. The 7-foot-center acquired by the Blazers in a three-team trade with New Orleans and Sacramento was introduced to his new team yesterday. Lopez told reporters his attention will be on blocking shots and defending shots.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Portland Trail Blazers have formally signed free agent guard Earl Watson. The 12-year NBA veteran played the past three seasons with the Utah Jazz. Terms of his contract with the Blazers were not released.
