The report says contracts involving a laundry service, Portland State University and a state prison were to the benefit of the agency’s advisory council.

WILSONVILLE, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon Corrections Department says the state medical examiner’s office has determined a female inmate committed suicide. The agency said yesterday that 18-year-old Precious Anderson was serving time at a Wilsonville women’s prison for assaulting a public safety officer. She was found July 3 alone in her cell.

COQUILLE, Ore. (AP) – A grand jury has indicted a North Bend man for murder in the slaying of his wife. District Attorney Paul Frasier said yesterday that Wayne Hagner is being held on $2 million bail and will appear in court Monday. Prosecutors say he killed Anna Lee Hagner with a single gunshot wound to the head after telling visitors to his home he was hearing voices.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Proposed settlements of Oregon utility rate increase requests would see residential electricity rates rise 5 percent for Portland General Electric customers and about 1 ½ percent for PacifiCorp customers.
