Mount Hood is the tallest mountain in Oregon at 11,239 feet and a popular climbing destination.

The Statesman Journal reports Bartol is awaiting charges in the fatal stabbing of a fellow inmate earlier this month in the Marion County Jail.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – An Oregon legislative committee has advanced a bill they say will meet a goal of curbing the state’s growing prison population within the next five years.
