Robert Wurpes said yesterday 61-year-old Duane Shottenkirk and 35-year-old Earnest Shottenkirk, were taken into custody late last week. Oregon officials say it appears blooming trees in the lot were recently sprayed with a type of insecticide known to be toxic to bees. According to The Oregonian, biologists estimate at least 25,000 bumblebees died.
