College Baseball World Series

Oregon State scored seven runs in the fourth inning; breaking open a “must win” situation for an 11-4 victory over Louisville yesterday to stay alive in the College Baseball World Series.  Ben Wetzler picked up the win on the mound; his tenth of the year; and allowed three runs over 6 1/3 innings of work.  The Beavers put up 11 hits; Andy Peterson was three-for-four at the plate; Michael Conforto was two-for-four.

The Cardinals had 12 hits, but left nine baserunners stranded and committed four errors.

The Beavers will face Indiana Wednesday evening in another elimination game… the Hoosiers lost 5-4 to Mississippi State last night in Omaha.

North West League

The Hops put up 12 runs on 12 hits and held the Eugene Emeralds scoreless last night for a Northwest League baseball victory in Hillsboro… the two teams meet again this evening for game two of the three game series.
