SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Oregon’s governor and legislative leaders will meet again this morning to try and work out a compromise on the state budget. They failed to find any common ground after a three-hour meeting last night. Democrats have majorities in the House and Senate, but they’ll need Republican votes to get the new tax revenue they’re seeking.

NEWBERG, Ore. (AP) – A 15-year-old boy pulled from the Willamette River near Newberg, Ore., is in critical condition. The Yamhill County sheriff’s office says rescuers found the boy yesterday evening after a report of a possible drowning. KATU-TV reports he was flown to a Portland hospital.

HOOD RIVER, Ore. (AP) – An Oregon sheriff says divers have recovered the body of a Cincinnati, Ohio, man who died after jumping off Punchbowl Falls in the Columbia River Gorge. Hood River County Sheriff Matt English said the body of 25-year-old Jason Endicott was found yesterday in about 12 feet of water, below the cliff where he jumped. The sheriff says Endicott was part of a group of five people who hiked to the top of the falls Sunday.

MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – A mixed-martial-arts trainer has been sentenced to four years in federal prison for selling pot grown under the pretense of the Oregon Medical Marijuana Program. Robert Hisamoto was sentenced yesterday in Medford, three months after he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to manufacture and distribute marijuana. Prosecutors say Hisamoto was selling pot on the black market.
