CLEVELAND (AP) – The Cleveland Indians toppled yet another former Cy Young Award winner with a 6-0 win over the Seattle Mariners. Justin Masterson struck out a season-high 11 in seven shutout innings, and Michael Brantley homered and drove in four runs off Felix Hernandez. Hernandez failed to go at least six innings for the first time this season.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Michael Conforto hit a grand slam home run to help Oregon State beat Oregon 12-2 in the rubber match of the Civil War series this weekend. Conforto drove in six total runs for the Beavers yesterday. They take a two game lead on the Ducks atop the Pac-12 standings. The two teams meet again in a nonconference game tomorrow in Corvallis.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) – Second-half substitute Jose Valencia scored in the 83rd minute to give the Portland Timbers a 2-2 draw against the Vancouver Whitecaps over the wekeend. Will Johnson also scored for Portland to help the Timbers extend their unbeaten streak to 10 games. The tying goal in Saturday’s game came while Portland was playing with 10 men due to Mamadou Danso’s ejection 2 minutes earlier.
