PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police say a man was killed and a woman wounded in a shooting early today outside a nude dance club in northeast Portland. Officers responding to the shooting after 2 a.m. outside Club Skinn found the man dead at the scene. The woman was taken to a Portland hospital and is expected to survive.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Oregon State Police are looking for a possible witness to an officer-involved shooting in Salem. Detectives say the witness may have been driving a black Subaru. A Marion County Sheriff’s deputy shot and killed a man during a confrontation April 23 after a traffic stop.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The U.S. Coast Guard has cited the owner of a boat that entered safety zone at the Port of Kalama, Wash., during a labor protest. Protesters have taken to boats on the Columbia River because of a contract dispute between grain terminal operators and the International Longshore & Warehouse Union.

FORT BLISS, Texas (AP) – A memorial service will be held this month for five soldiers killed in a bombing in Afghanistan, including one from Bend. The service will be held May 22 at the chapel at Fort Bliss in Texas. Spc. Brandon Prescott of Bend was killed in the bomb attack May 4.
