Athlete of the Week
Siuslaw baseball standout Alex Snow is Coast Radio Sports Athlete of the Week. The Viking utility player pitched a perfect game, striking out seven while facing 15 batters in Siuslaw’s 17-nothing shutout win over Douglas last week. Snow helped himself offensively as well… going two-for-three at the plate with one RBI; one run scored; and stealing two bases.
Honorable mention is given to Siuslaw middle distance runner Hayden Schaffner. He won two events at last week’s Marshfield Invitational Track and Field Meet, taking the 3-thousand meter and as a member of the 4 x 400 relay team.
Far West Final Season
The final week of regular season play begins today for Siuslaw baseball and softball. Viking softball is on the road in Curry County against the Brookings-Harbor Bruins at four… baseball is at home, also at four, also against the Bruins… That game will air on Coast Radio Sports beginning at 3:45.
