CORNELIUS, Ore. (AP) – A fire in a log-cabin style home south of Cornelius has displaced about 16 people. The Oregonian says the two-alarm fire destroyed the interior of the two-story home on Saturday. Matt Johnston of the Cornelius Fire Department says the fire began at about 6:20 p.m. and firefighters extinguished most of the flames after about an hour. No one was hurt.

COQUILLE, Ore. (AP) – A weekend fire at a Coquille feed store killed between 75 and 100 chickens. Employees believe the devices used to warm baby chickens may have caused the Saturday night fire. Assistant manager Richard Irvine told The Coos Bay World the fire damaged everything inside the Milk-E-Way Feed and Trucking store. The cause is still under investigation.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Central Oregon Interagency Dispatch Center says a 168-acre wildfire ignited by a downed power line is 75 percent contained. The Burgess Road Fire started just before 2 p.m. Saturday. High wind helped spread it quickly. Threatened structures in the Crescent Creek Subdivision of La Pine were evacuated but that order was lifted Saturday night.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A 23-year-old man has been arrested on charges of manslaughter and driving under the influence following a Saturday morning crash on Oregon 212 that killed a 52-year-old motorcyclist. The Oregonian says Bradley Allen Brock is being held in Clackamas County Jail on $257,000 bail after allegedly pulling his pickup in front of motorcyclist Kenneth Bladow.
